Peter Markey is the outsourced CFO/Controller for a number of companies, and provides accounting and auditing expertise to clients in a wide range of industries. His concentrations include certified financial and operational audits, information technology consulting, financial and management reporting and banking relationships. Peter also oversees the internal operations of the firm.

Since Peter joined M Group in 1986, as one of the firm’s first employees, he’s specialized in helping his clients to improve their operational efficiency and financing needs. Simply put, as clients are looking for more information to help them better run their business, Peter has developed software and systems that make it easier and faster to retrieve financial data. The latest advances in accounting software and document retrieval programs have enabled Peter’s clients to gain greater visibility to all of their financial documentation…everything from current cash position, to invoicing to the best options for borrowing cash for operational needs…timely and accurate financial information clients need to successfully run their business.

Peter, a Certified Public Accountant, brings more than 26 years of experience to M Group. He spent the first five years of his career at the Big 4 accounting firm of Ernst & Young. Prior to joining M Group Peter served as Chief Operating Officer for an international commodities business, where he oversaw all aspects of the company’s day-to-day operations.

Peter is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, and holds a bachelor degree in Accounting. He received a Masters of Business Administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. Peter is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
